Jennings American Legion Hospital has been blessed to be the recipient of a Cuddlecot™ through Ashlie's Embrace, in the memory of Willow Burman. The Cuddlecot™ will allow us to improve our services to provide bereaved parents with the option of spending additional time with their baby. Providing families time is internationally encouraged by midwives, bereavement practitioners, stillbirth/neonatal charities and academics. It's also recognized in international position statements/guidance. This time allows the family to form an important bond with their baby, whether changing a diaper, dressing the baby or simply just staying close. It can help the family cope with the loss of their loved one.
